A Google search for “coffee myths” returns about 14,200,000 results. And now, I will add to those results by debunking 13 of the most common myths.

From the usual sugars and various creams; to eggs, cheese, and booze, coffee drinkers from around the globe have their own special way of making magic in a cup with their coffee.

Though presuming isn’t the best thing to do, I still have a presumption that coffee makes its way into film because the writing process and production of movies is fueled by the mystical murky beverage.

Therefore, I have compiled a list of some of the more memorable scenes in cinematic history featuring coffee, so brew a pot and enjoy.

Coffee has a rich, bold history, with all the ingredients of a well-produced premium cable miniseries: kings, spies, pirates, lovers, religion, politics, and war.

Over the years, its advocates and acolytes have called it “koffie,” “kahve,” “qahwah,” “quwwa,” “kaafa,” and “cafe,” and the path it took to your kitchen counter is rife with treachery, battles, seduction, and dumb luck.
