Have you read Preacher? I’m not asking because there is a show on AMC based on those comics. I’m not asking because I was on a podcast called “Preacher vs. Preacher: A Comparison Companion.” I’m asking, because it is flat out a great read!
How did I come to find this comic from the 90’s? How did I end up on that podcast? Truthfully, it is all Bill Sweeney’s fault, Bill being a friend and the host and creator of The Wicked Theory Podcast.

“Can You Enjoy this in a Vacuum?”
Captain America Civil War is indeed a great popcorn movie and another strong addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). But I can’t help but wonder how much you miss if you aren’t fully absorbed into the MCU.
It has all of the action, drama, and comedy, that comes from the great writing we expect from the MCU, but it also stands like a keystone on top of everything that came before it in Phase One and Phase Two.
It has so many callbacks, not just in plot, but in dialogue, that I just have to ask, “can you enjoy this in a vacuum?”

Only When I Laugh by Len Deighton: A Spoiler Free Book Review
There is something unique about Only When I Laugh, or Only When I Larf, in the original English printing, the first non-spy novel written by Len Deighton. It reads much more like a short story or even a short play than a novel but that’s also what makes it fun to read.
