Agent Winchester’s Quick Review of Anna

Anna, directed by Luc Besson, cast/has three legit stars in it: Helen Mirren, Luke Evans, and Cillian Murphy. After a failed relationship ends suddenly, she is recruited by the KGB. After a year in training and two in the field, she learns the promise of freedom after five years of service is a lie. She is also a successful model between jobs, and working dual professions is hard on her.

Under the thumb of the KGB, including her handler, Alex (Evans) and intelligence officer, Olga (Mirren), she is a precise and methodical killer.

Don’t Pass on MoviePass

Do Not Pass on MoviePass

MoviePass is currently a $9.95 per month movie ticket subscription service started by the co-founder of Netflix. Even though I consider myself a gadget guy, I am not the guy who will pay hundreds of dollars for the first-of-a-kind product like when CD players, Blu-ray players, or the Roomba debuted.

Even though I love Apple, I have never bought a first-generation Apple product. I tend to avoid new products unless they have amazing ratings from customers I know well or I have seen them in operation. Partially, I avoid these purchases because buying them is essentially gambling.

Five Reasons Agent Winchester Loves Kingsman: The Secret Service

Kingsman The Secret Service

I love Kingsman: The Secret Service a lot. According to the Panel to Screen extra on the Blu-ray, the movie is a “postmodern love letter to spy movies.” Director Matthew Vaughn felt that spy movies have become too serious and no longer fun, and this movie is the result.

Hollywood talent agrees as well. Keep in mind the A-list actors who are in this: Colin Firth, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Caine, and Mark Hamill.

How to Clear Up Your V(O)D Problem

Movie theaters are the middle child of the movie industry. Theater owners build expensive cinematic palaces, and their employees constantly receive the brunt of criticism for ticket prices. The studios reward their efforts by attempting to steer business from them. Recently, theater chains planned to shorten the theaters-to-video cycle for a proposed $30 video on demand (VOD) premium option.

Theaters have upgraded their services by adding nap-initiating recliner seats and reserved seating, but they continue to do little to nothing to address the patrons who distract other customers by speaking audibly and taking out their phones during the show.

From Ted “Theodore” Logan to John Wick: Keanu Reeves has been Consistently Good

Keanu Reeves seems to split movie fans more than any other actor I know. I recently heard two people in my life that have never met say to me that he is “not a good actor” like a judge, jury, and executioner. And to me, two people is too many, though I believe there are usually no rules for how people feel about movies or actors, I usually let the hot air blown at me pass by and disappear.

Most times an actor is criticized this way, there is a lot of evidence to back it up. When people say it about Reeves, I don’t get the impression they put their full mind behind the statement.
