Special Report: The Real Legend of Zelda: Quest of Chronology | Prelude

The Real Legend of Zelda

Special Report by Agent Parker

This may be a kind review when it’s all done.

Then again, it may not.

In between my kids’ and wife’s shifts of essential dominance over the television thanks to Netflix, I’ve taken it upon myself to play through – in order – the canon-friendly titles of the Zelda universe (no CDi or LCD games, for the love of Hylia) that I can get my hands on, either via existing console cartridges and discs or emulation.

Hail to the King, Duke Nukem Forever: F#@K Call of Duty! A History Lesson in Gaming!

Duke Nukem Forever American Icon

As mentioned in the previous post, I recently beat Duke Nukem Forever – A game that essentially 15 years in the making eventually released with little critical acclaim, but one that should have been given it’s due. Duke Nukem Forever was not for everyone but, having beaten the game, I can say it was made for me as I fit into the 1% of gamers who can appreciate its greatness.

In all fairness, the lack of critical acclaim was due to its place in modern gaming and has no actual bearing on the game itself.

I Just Beat Duke Nukem Forever and…

Duke Nukem Hail to the King Baby

I thoroughly enjoyed the game. Yeah, I bet you didn’t expect that. Hail to the King, baby! This game is great. It had everything in it, that made Duke Nukem 3D so iconic. It had guns, blood and gore, boobs and the classic dialogue that you expect from the Duke.

For a game that was in development for 12 years, you can’t blame them for taking some shots at themselves.

Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of a New World ~ Review

Tales of Symphonia Dawn of a New World

It’s been a while since I’ve posted. It’s also been a while since I started AND finished an RPG as well. The to are in direct correlation with each other as since my “Greatest Geek weekend in a while” I did spend the time needed to finish Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of a New World and it was very enjoyable. At times, it felt like I was in a choose your own adventure movie.

The game is exactly what you’d expect from a game in the Tales series.

The Greatest Geek Weekend in a while

Tales of Symphonia Dawn of a New World Emil

This past weekend I had the joy of doing one thing all geeks love to do. I played a video game. Yep. That’s it. I made it through the first 5 Chapters of Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of a New World. It wasn’t just that though. There was more to it. The things that happened this weekend just added to the excitement.

This weekend, while procrastinators thought out their tax strategies, I was lounging on the couch leveling my characters and basking in the glow of my Wii.
