A funny thing happened the other evening. With our tax return in hand, I promised the kids one purchase each to celebrate Uncle Sam’s annual kickback.

Not surprisingly but certainly with some geek pride swelling in my heart, both chose video games.

Boss battles presented nearly insurmountable challenges for my little gamers, and once again, it was Dad to the rescue.

Cinema fuels our Fascination with Titanic helping it trump all other Transportation Tragedies

One hundred two years ago on April 15th, 1912, the RMS Titanic was on it’s maiden voyage. As we all know, it ended in tragedy at the bottom of the North Atlantic Ocean after striking an iceberg. It was one of the greatest transportation calamities of the 20th Century only rivaled by the Hindenburg disaster 25 years later.

In the 102 years since it’s sinking, the world has had a growing fascination with this ship, culminating in many documentaries and movies, perhaps most famously with James Cameron’s blockbuster “Titanic” in 1997, but that’s hardly the most accurate depiction.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier is a Marvel Masterpiece that ties in amazingly with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. [Full of Spoilers]

A few things up front. I am current with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. I watched the episode before Captain America opened and I watched the one that essentially spoiled the movie a few days later. I had a spoiler free post about Captain America: The Winter Soldier all ready to go, when this week’s episode of S.H.I.E.L.D. spoiled it, so I threw it out and wrote this.

Captain America’s trailers months ago led all of us to believe that he was acting less like Captain America the superhero and more like Captain America, an Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.
