Last year I continued with my friends’ A to Zed playlists and I even incorporated two thematic playlists with the Baseball Playlist and the DC Superhero Playlist. I plan to do a few more of these this year, starting with this Month by Month Playlist.
Now, I’ll be honest, a good portion of these playlists were/are created as research for my behind-the-scenes and sometimes on-air responsibilities for Our Liner Notes.

I grew up with all types of music. As a kid, Heavy Metal and Motown ruled my house but I also listened to just about anything in between because back then, radio still had some variety. One day I might hear Earth Angel, and later that same day, perhaps Angel Of Death. As you might imagine I wound up with a very varied taste.

The DC Universe is more than comics these days, it’s also a cinematic universe, a television universe, and it has remained a stalwart of the comics publishing industry. It’s also served as an inspiration to artists across all mediums, and one place that is sometimes overlooked is DC’s influence in popular music.

There are a lot of rock stars and musicians who want to be athletes, and baseball is a favorite sport of a lot of them, regardless of genre.
So it wasn’t hard to come up with 27 tracks to put on this list. Why 27?
Because 27 is the number of outs needed for a perfect game, thus making this the perfect baseball playlist.

The process of creating this list was just as difficult as some of the other lists I have created in the past. Certain letters came to me right away, while others required a bit of research and a process of elimination. I could easily have two A to Z lists to present to you all.
