Ahsoka & Most Wanted: Mike Reviews Star Wars Teen Literature

…is a sentence I never thought I’d type. But I’m trying to read as much of the new canon content as possible, and Ahsoka, by E.K. Johnston had reviewed well. That led to Rae Carson’s Most Wanted, but more about that later.

Ahsoka, surprisingly enough, focuses on Ahsoka Tano and sets about filling in the gaps between Clones Wars and (slight spoiler warning) Rebels. With Ahsoka on the lam from the Empire, the story follows the former Jedi padawan as she attempts to build a new life for herself.

LEGO Star Wars Snow Speeder – 20th Anniversary Edition – A Review

LEGO Star Snow Speeder – 20th Anniversary Edition – A Review - Bag 4

On April 1st, Lego released five sets commemorating the 20th anniversary of the Lego Star Wars theme, each set came with a new version of an old set, as well as a limited edition minifigure presented in their original guise. These minifigs (Darth Vader, Han Solo, Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker and Lando Calrissian) are pretty much the main reason people will want to buy these sets as they each come with a commemorative stand and look pretty snazzy.

Here it is, the last of the five sets released in April, and it the set I was least looking forward to. Why? Speeders are cool…

Anakin’s Podracer is a set I wasn’t overly hyped about as I never had the original, but I am a completionist.

LEGO Star Wars Microfighters – Series Seven Review

LEGO Star Wars Microfighters – Series Seven MiniFigs

If you’re wondering why the diversion from the 20th Anniversary sets? Well, I don’t have the two of the sets yet, and the Slave 1, as beautiful as it, can’t stand up without additional support. I’ve ordered a custom stand so worry not. It’ll be here soon.

Microfighters divide opinion amongst fans of Lego Star Wars as their super-deformed style doesn’t appeal to everyone. On the whole, though, I’m a fan, and the kids love them. At less than ten bucks, Microfighters are relatively cheap and in recent years, have been an inexpensive way to get some decent mini-figures.
