Starting on Sunday January 17th with Our Liner Notes followed by The Wicked Theory Podcast on Monday January 18th, 7 Days A Geek on Tuesday January 19th and ending with Reasons Are Several on January 21st, the “Week of Palmer” occurred as an unplanned, welcome period of time with shout outs, stories and questions on four different podcasts.

In the scheme of things, listening to a podcast is a fairly passive thing. You hit play and listen, but there exists a few, like me, active listeners. And while most social media is akin to screaming into a void, sometimes actual connections can occur.

In the case of the two main hosts from 7 Days A Geek; The Angry Ginger and TK1, or as I now call them Ginger and Grant, being an active listener and tweeting with them has, with the help of a “bold experiment,” turned us into friends, and there are others in the group that have become a family of sorts.

Before I picked up What’s It All About? I knew that Michael Caine was a great actor of both the stage and screen. I knew him as Harry Palmer, Charlie Croker, and Alfie, among many others.

But in this, his first autobiography, you learn that there’s a lot more to the man. Maurice Joseph Micklewhite was born in England. He was not one who had success thrust upon him nor was he born into it. He worked his way up in a place where the class system existed and breaking out was no easy task.
