For a little fun, I’ve decided to respond to Moving the Needle’s Roy MacMillan, who tagged me in a social media post. I’ve renamed it “The Nine Threes,” because it didn’t have a name and it contains nine things that all require three answers.
I apologize for the “classified” responses, but it appears as though my superiors haven’t yet declassified all of my exploits. Those are the breaks for a secret agent blogger…
Looking back at 2015, it’s safe to say that another banner geek year has passed. So let’s take a look into what made this one so special.
Starting at the movies, the record for box office opening was broken twice this year, and almost three times, all with geek movies. First, in May, Avengers: Age of Ultron fell just shy ($191,271,109) of its predecessor, Marvel’s The Avengers ($207,438,708). Then in July, Jurassic World took over the top spot ($208,806,270), and lastly the current record holder from earlier this month, Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($247,966,675).
I know, you’re not thinking, “Palmer was on another podcast,” but “what do Kiss, They Might Be Giants, and The Strokes have in common?”
Well, they all hail from New York, and that was the theme of Our Liner Notes Episode 6 “Agents of New York”, retroactively chosen by myself and hosts Chris and Paul Maier. And yes, all three bands hail from New York, but now you’re asking yourself, “what is Our Liner Notes?”
When I started this blog, I never set a goal for how much I would or even could write. I just set out to be the geek I am and tell stories, entertain, and inform as best I could.
So upon nearly reaching the nice round number of 300, I decided to put the call out to my readers, many of whom have become friends, to say something about either, myself, the blog, or the reaching of the 300th post milestone.
