The year 2020 may have seemed longer, but it was just a singular calendar year consisting of the standard non-leap year 365 days and 8,760 hours. But just like sitting in class watching the clock, circumstances have the unique ability to both speed up and slow down our perspective of time.
For some, as the joke goes, 2020 was the longest March in history. For others, this year flew by, and I definitely side with the latter.

The Magus is both our romanticized past and timeless future all rolled into the fabric of something completely unique to the eye of the reader. It’s a linear story that hints at larger meanings and thoughts.

Donald K. “Deke” Slayton may not be the household name he should be, but he has had a hand in shaping history as we have come to know it. He was one of the original Mercury Seven, unfortunately, he was the one who didn’t get a flight, but he did eventually make it into space, and in the meantime, he ran the Astronaut Office, and the story for how he got there, his impressions, his knowledge, perspective, and his stories, are second to none.
All of this is what makes Deke! worth your time.

Miss Wyoming is the story of Susan Colgate, a former Miss Wyoming, and John Johnson a Hollywood producer, and luckily, author Douglas Coupland isn’t creating the same star-crossed lovers romance that you’ve read before. This is unique, which also makes it a highly entertaining read.

I’ll admit it. I only know Lee Mack from YouTube. At first, he was a guest on some panel shows I was watching before I went into a deeper dive of panel shows and enjoyed him on Would I Lie To You?
That show plus all the guest appearances is one of the reasons I picked up David Mitchell’s Back Story: A Memoir, and it was also enough of a reason to pick up the other team leader’s autobiography; Mack the Life by Lee Mack.
