In the August 1980 issue of Future Life, published just three months after the release of The Empire Strikes Back, a quote appears in the science and science fiction magazine that references Empire as the “‘second act’ of a proposed nine movie Star Wars series.”

This cannot be debated as I physically have a copy of the magazine.

It’s 2015, Happy New Year! As 2014 came to a close, I coined it the “Year of the Trailer.” With that being the case, there must be movies in 2015 worth seeing.

So, in the interest of maintaining 2014 as the “Year of the Trailer,” here are 15 movies that you should see in 2015. They run the gamut from adult to children’s movies, action and adventure, reboots, continuations, and, of course, comic book movies.

The third and final installment of The Hobbit, is more a bridge to the initial Lord of the Rings trilogy then farewell fanfare to The Hobbit trilogy, at least that’s how I see it.

There are two ways to look at this movie, as an end to the trilogy of The Hobbit or as the third act in a six part play. It’s much better overall to look at it as the latter, because of all of the extra stuff added into this trilogy to make it a bridge from one trilogy to the next.

I just can’t see it any other way.

It starts with “On June 12… The Park… Is Open,” but the fanboy in me has already moved on to other things.

What I am about to do, is state my fascination with the new Jurassic World, while at the same time asking the questions I hope the movie answers. Why? Because I fell in love with the first Jurassic Park over 20 years ago when I saw it opening weekend.

How many movies can claim to have a star studded cast, an amazing soundtrack, and a football game named after them? One: The Big Chill.

Released September 30, 1983 starring Tom Berenger, Glenn Close, Jeff Goldblum, William Hurt, Kevin Kline, Mary Kay Place, Meg Tilly, and JoBeth Williams, The Big Chill is about a group seven college friends reuniting following the untimely death of one of their friends in South Carolina. It’s about an extended weekend with estranged friends, with explorations of life, death, money, loss, gain, sex, and love.
