I have two walls in my home devoted to the animation of Ralph Bakshi, designated as my two “Bakshi Walls.” One is in my living room, which consists of three animation pencils from Wizards and the other is in my office, which has two actual animation cels from Wizards, so I guess you could call them my “Wizards” walls.
I’m going to share with you these walls, as they are two of my favorite Geek Spaces.

There are movies that you have to see on opening night, movies that you’ll rent, movies that you’ll see eventually and simply movies that you’d like to see. Below is the kind of list that contains all of those, but the one constant is that I want to see them all at some point.
I’ll be the first to admit that I usually don’t care to see 14 new movies in a given year, usually 6 or 7 tops, but this year I wrote them all down they totaled 14, what luck!?

This edition of Small Oddities contains a range of topics from dinosaurs to bombers, from castles to Futurama. Running the gamut of techniques from photography and digital art to cartoons and digital spoofs, each is created with talent, although the range of emotion may be from fun to serious to horror, they’re all great.

His influences were Bob Dylan, Jackson Pollack, Elvis Presley, Superman comic books, beatniks, jazz, Jack Kerouac, and the old school creators of cartooning and animation. This, coupled with the time periods he lived through, gave Ralph Bakshi the perfect storm of a foundation for his beliefs and the perfect medium to tell his stories.

I am always amazed at the talent found on DeviantArt. The brushstrokes, a correctly placed pixel, the click of a camera at the right moment, the correct light, cartoon irony, serenity and humor. It’s all in my feed thanks, in no small part, to the talented artists and photographers that make up my watch-list.
