Here’s the thing. Flowers, going out to dinner, cards, and candy are all the cliches for Valentine’s Day that couples get each other.

Now, I’m not saying they’re all bad. But unless those cards are Magic: The Gathering, Pokemon, or Spellfire, it’s not inherently going to be the cards your geek wants to receive.

It’s not bad that you put in some effort, but to go the extra mile, I’m here to help you make it special.

If 2016 has taught us anything, it’s that death catches up to us all in the end. Unfortunately, this includes our favorite iconic characters as well.

Hollywood has hit a crossroads that seems to be left out of modern cinema conversation: what do we do when an actor or actress that has established an iconic character wants to retire, or worse, passes away?

Lots of movies come out every year. Some are good, some are bad, some are geeky fan services, but one thing remains the same, year after year: I am always surprised by something being better than I thought and something else being a letdown.

I’m not sure what will happen once the lights dim in the theatre this year, but I know that if it all works out, I’ll be seeing a good portion of these 17 movies in 2017.

This is my list, and it’s based on just my own thoughts and feelings. Will you be seeing any of these with me, and what will you be watching instead?

I saw Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and I wasn’t that impressed. Some people are telling me that it means I’m not a “hardcore” Star Wars fan, but I’m more inclined to think it just means, I won’t be taken with a movie simply because you slap “Star Wars” in the title.

Sure, it had some good parts and it wasn’t a bad film, but it was not one of those movies that I was as energized with as the end credits rolled, as I was when the opening fanfare began.
