CBS’s Scorpion is the A-Team meets MacGyver for the 21st Century

A season one review of Scorpion on CBS

Seriously, Scorpion really is the A-Team meets MacGyver for the 21st century. It’s well written, well cast and thoroughly enjoyable. At times it’s even implausible and the odds are definitely against the team more often than not, but how is that any different from the MacGyver and A-Team television lineage from which it comes.

The first season of any show is about introductions and Scorpion’s first season does that very well without being slow. Granted the title sequence of the show does introduce the characters, but throughout Season 1 depth is added to each and every main character within the show.

Agent Carter was Welcome Filler during Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Mid-season Break

Marvel's Agent Peggy Carter

I wasn’t expecting too much when entering the fandom of Agent Carter on January 6, 2015, along with scores of others. I was a little upset that after a big reveal on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., there would now be a long break before getting back to Skye/Daisy/Quake, or whichever you prefer to call her.

However, I was expecting to see the founding of S.H.I.E.L.D. and I was wrong.

There, I said it.

A Conversation about Agent Carter after Episode 6 A Sin to Err

The following took place on Friday February 13th, a few days after the airing of Episode 6 of Agent Carter on ABC titled, “A Sin to Err.”

It was an email correspondence between myself and undercover operative L. This is not uncommon. Geeks who find other geeks in work circumstances will commonly bond over commonalities from TV shows, to movies, to comics, books, and more.

The conversation happened between 9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.:

Interrogations

The Interrogation of Jerry JB Manas

The Thorough Interrogation of Renaissance Man and Author J.B. “Jerry” Manas

The interrogation of J.B. “Jerry” Manas is fascinating for anyone who has an inclination towards writing, although the concepts and advice wound through this can apply to subjects much broader than just writing. Usually, subjects of my interrogations are pliable, but it took this co-author of The Kronos Interference a little while to open up, and when he did… it wasn’t Intel we found inside, it was wisdom.
