Hail to the King, Duke Nukem Forever: F#@K Call of Duty! A History Lesson in Gaming!

Duke Nukem Forever American Icon

As mentioned in the previous post, I recently beat Duke Nukem Forever – A game that essentially 15 years in the making eventually released with little critical acclaim, but one that should have been given it’s due. Duke Nukem Forever was not for everyone but, having beaten the game, I can say it was made for me as I fit into the 1% of gamers who can appreciate its greatness.

In all fairness, the lack of critical acclaim was due to its place in modern gaming and has no actual bearing on the game itself.

I Just Beat Duke Nukem Forever and…

Duke Nukem Hail to the King Baby

I thoroughly enjoyed the game. Yeah, I bet you didn’t expect that. Hail to the King, baby! This game is great. It had everything in it, that made Duke Nukem 3D so iconic. It had guns, blood and gore, boobs and the classic dialogue that you expect from the Duke.

For a game that was in development for 12 years, you can’t blame them for taking some shots at themselves.

Geeking out on Twitter

Kevin Smith Silent Bob Clerks

The world has become much smaller. Twitter, which I’ve complained about, is all about communication. It’s supposed to be about the conversation. And when people acknowledge your tweets that’s good, but when celebrities acknowledge your tweets, that’s amazing.

I, Agent Palmer (@AgentPalmer), been following Kevin Smith (@ThatKevinSmith)on twitter for quite a while

Twitter is not Facebook

Twitter is not Facebook

It’s a really simple equation that most people just don’t seem to understand; twitter ≠ facebook. How hard is that to comprehend? Most people can understand that 8 ≠ 2, but twitter and facebook they confuse. It’s not apples and apples, it’s not even apples and oranges, it’s apples and plastic.

I understand that they are both social mediums and forms of communication. But the similarities stop there.

Dr. Gregory House, M.D. ~ May he live in peace

Dr. Gregory House MD

The final episode of House was preceded by a very beautiful retrospective. The final episode of House was the culmination of eight seasons. The final episode of House was a nice end to a great series. The final episode of House was a fitting tribute to an extraordinary character. I won’t get the chance to miss Dr. House, he’s in syndication and in that respect, the character and the show will continue to live on.

Dr. Gregory House, was a brilliant character.
